𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗥𝗘𝗔𝗟 𝗤𝗨𝗜𝗖𝗞 𝗦𝗛𝗜𝗙𝗧: 𝗢𝘂𝗿 𝗝𝗼𝘂𝗿𝗻𝗲𝘆 𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝗧𝗲𝗮𝗰𝗵𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝘁𝗼 𝗔𝗺𝗮𝘇𝗼𝗻 𝗦𝗲𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗿-𝗩𝗔𝘀

They said we wasted our teaching degrees. But the skills that made us great teachers… made us even better Amazon VAs.

We started our journey just like many others—fresh out of college, wide-eyed, and committed to shaping young minds. In 2016, we both graduated with a degree in Secondary Education, major in Biological Science at Holy Trinity College of General Santos City. Naturally, the next step was to teach—and we passed the Licensure Examination for Professional Teachers (LET) in the same year.

In 2017, we landed our first teaching jobs in a private school, handling Junior High School students. We spent our days preparing lesson plans and nights checking papers—fully immersed in the life of educators. Chris even began pursuing his Master’s Degree in Science and Technology, while juggling his full-time job as a private school teacher.

By 2018, we transitioned to the public school system. Chris taught Senior High School under DepEd, while Mitch continued with Junior High. And while we loved our students and the joy of teaching, we slowly began to wonder—was this really the only way to live a stable life?

Then came 2019. Chris made the difficult decision to resign from DepEd. It was scary, but it opened the door for something new. The following year, in 2020, we started a small computer shop business—we named it MCI PISOnet (which eventually became MCI PISO-WIFI). The name came from us: Michelle, Christopher, and our firstborn, Ino. The business grew fast—expanding to 8 branches.

In 2021, we took another leap. We explored forex trading, joined crypto-based games (Chris tried many, but the most profitable one was AXIE), and launched a PISO-WIFI business that reached over 60 units across different locations. These ventures taught us valuable lessons about taking risks, learning new systems, and adapting quickly.

By 2022, Mitch also left her teaching career. That’s when everything changed.

Late that year, Chris discovered the world of Virtual Assistance—specifically, working with Amazon sellers. We had zero background in freelancing. No mentors. No roadmaps. Just determination. We studied, practiced, got rejected, and applied again. We treated it like how we used to teach—with structure, heart, and consistency.

In 2023, all that hard work finally started to pay off:

We landed our first clients.

Our mornings went from stressful commutes to peaceful coffee at home.

Our unpaid overtime turned into paid work with real impact.

We could now work from anywhere—from beaches to international travels—armed with just a laptop and strong Wi-Fi.
